The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Punta Cana
High Season: November to April
This is the dry season in the Dominican Republic — the period of lowest rainfall, lowest humidity, and the most comfortable temperatures (24–28°C / 75–82°F). Sunsets are spectacular, evenings are breezy, and the risk of rain during your ceremony is very low. The tradeoff: higher demand means venues and vendors book up quickly and peak pricing applies.
Shoulder Season: May and October
May and October sit just outside the rainy season. Temperatures are slightly warmer and afternoon showers are more common, but mornings are typically beautiful and clear. Pricing is noticeably lower and venues have more availability. Many couples who get married in May or October love the lush, vibrant greenery that the brief rains bring.
Rainy Season: June to September
The Caribbean rainy season brings heavier and more frequent showers, though they are usually short — an hour of rain followed by sunshine. Hurricane season officially runs June through November, though Punta Cana sits south of the typical hurricane track and sees significantly fewer direct impacts than other Caribbean destinations. Venues accommodate this with covered pavilion options.
Our Recommendation
For most couples, January through March offers the best combination of weather, availability, and experience. For those flexible on dates, October and early November offer excellent value without significantly higher weather risk. Avoid July and August if possible — they are the hottest and rainiest months.
